News of Russian biobanks: Biobank of the National Medical Research Center of Cardiology named after Academician E.I.Chazov of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation

Since 2021, our Biobank has been carrying out total biobanking within the scientific project ‘Study of risk factors for the development and peculiarities of the course of cardiovascular diseases using multimix technologies’ of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

To date, more than 11000 blood samples and more than 21000 serum samples have been collected. Collection of biomaterial continues.

From August 2023, the second stage has started the collection of biopsy specimens (heart tissue) by 11 types. The most commonly encountered:

  1. Lower extremity veins
  2. Mammary artery
  3. Ascending aorta
  4. Subcutaneous fat
