We are leaders in the Russian Federation in the study of infectious diseases in children, both congenital and acquired, transmitted by various routes, including patients with various comorbid conditions.
This valuable resource has allowed us to successfully implement a number of projects within the framework of the State Assignment.
The results have been obtained and presented in various journals, including foreign journals:
- TLR3 gene defects in children with CNS lesions infected with herpesvirus were determined;
- The frequency of human betaherpesvirus type 6 variants circulating in the paediatric population of St. Petersburg was determined, with the predominance of variant B in 90% of cases;
- A case of chromosomal integration of human betaherpesvirus type 6 A with hereditary transmission, which requires further monitoring, has been identified and confirmed for the first time in St. Petersburg;
- The algorithm of diagnostics of combined acute and chronic herpesvirus infections depending on the terms of infection was developed, using both routine and innovative methods, which allows to effectively assess the period of the infectious process with the identification of the leading etopathogenetic agent of the disease;
- Genetic markers of multisystem inflammatory syndrome were determined.
